Add document

Add a PDF to the documents library. The crew can view and download it from the Documents tab.

Note: file upload isn't wired up yet in the prototype — adding here just creates the metadata. Once Firebase is live, you'll also pick a PDF file and the app uploads it.

What the Excel needs

Quick reminder of the format. Your existing workbook works as-is — keep using it.

Sheet 1 — Schedule
  • Col A: Employee Name
  • Col B: Phone Number
  • Cols C–G: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri
  • Cell content: Job Name (10210) · OFF · or any free-text note
Sheet 2 — Jobs
  • Col A: Job Name
  • Col B: Job Number (matches the number in parens on Sheet 1)
  • Col C: Job Address
  • Col D: Supervisor (just the first name — Chad, Daniel, Matt, etc.)

Other sheets in the workbook (notes, history, blank templates) are ignored automatically. The full guide with examples lives in EXCEL-GUIDE-FOR-JOHN.md.

Pinned note

Sticks to the top of everyone's Schedule. Use for "early start tomorrow", "rained out", quick reminders. Push notifies all crew when you save.

Install on home screen

Get Brick City as an app on your phone — own icon, full screen, push notifications when supported.

iPhone Safari only

On iPhone you must use Safari — Chrome and other browsers can't install web apps on iOS.

  1. Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  2. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  3. Tap Add in the top right.

The Brick City icon will appear on your home screen. Open it from there to use it like any other app.

Android Chrome
  1. Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right of Chrome.
  2. Tap Install app or Add to Home Screen.
  3. Tap Install to confirm.

Other browsers (Samsung Internet, Firefox) work too — the menu name varies but it's always under the main menu.
